Beginning Technical Theatre
Technical theatre is a class solely for first year technicians where they learn a broad understanding of theatre. The class covers different types of theaters and all 11 production values. Taking this class will give you enough knowledge on all aspects of technical theatre to choose specific production value by the end of the year.

Intermediate Technical Theatre
Intermediate Technical Theatre is a second year course for technicians where they hone in on the production value more specifically. You are able to choose a production value to study where a peer tutor that specializes in the field and will guide you through how to crew/design a show in the lens of your production value.
Advanced Technical Theatre
Advanced Technical Theatre is the third year course for technicians. After learning how to design in the previous course, in this course you are able to design alongside a fourth year designer and complete a full design with less guidance. These third year technicians sign up for the summer practicum where they showcase their design knowledge.

Advanced Theatre Production
Advanced Theatre Production is a class for students participating in mainstage productions. This ninth period class is a semester-based course for the Fall Play and Spring Musical. Both actors and technicians are graded based off of their attendance, workmanship, and attitude throughout the production process.

IUSD Technical Theatre Bootcamp
The Summer Technical Theatre Bootcamp teaches a broad view of all technical aspects of theatre. Each year the program chooses 2 production values to focus on where you can learn the basics at first of softwares. fundamentals, and theatrical basics to help you create a foundation. By the end of the bootcamp, you are able to create your own design using all the new technology and knowledge you have learned. The bootcamp allows technicians from all experience levels to grown as or into designers.

Uni Summer Practicum
The summer theatre practicum is a new opportunity that was first offered in 2019. We produce a smaller scale show in the big theater almost entirely throughout the summer. Actors and designers gain more one on one experience with our staff and industry professionals for intense personal training. This course is offered to students who have taken at least 2 years of technical theatre.

Mainstage Productions: Play & Musical
Mainstage productions are one of the best ways to learn and grow as a technician by getting hands-on experience from a working crew. All students are able to sign up for a Fall Play and Spring Musical, but casting priority goes to those who take a theatre class.
