Industry Speaker

UNI THEATRE ARTS was lucky enough to host 1997 University High School Alumni, Omid Abtahi for an Industry Speaker Event in the Little Theatre.

Omid graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2001 where he was involved in the Acting BA at the same time Miss Bettger and Mrs. Gaona attended as Theatre Education majors.

Omid Abtahi has blazed trails for actors in the Persian community and it was such an honor to have him speak to our students about his experiences in the industry. He graciously donated his time on May 3, 2023 to speak with this group of IUSD Theatre students.

Thanks!

Critic Choices Announced

Students from the Orange County Cappies program came to review our productions of “The Bold, The Young and The Murdered” and “Urinetown the Musical”.

These Critic Choices are those students favorite aspects of our production!!!

What’s next: these are the students who are eligible to be nominated as Top 5 candidates in their discipline by the Orange County Cappies on Voting Day, May 2nd.

The Cappies Reception is when we find out who the Top 5 Candidates are, and those students are awarded medallions in recognition of their work. This ceremony, May 11th at Portola High School is open to family members and is free of charge.

Finally, on May 28th at the Grove of Anaheim, the Orange County Cappies Gala will take place and the winners will be awarded trophies. This evening is a formal event and tickets will be on sale at the Reception or online.
